Scott Douglas Vaughan of Lexington, SC, is a Georgia native.
Scott began writing short stories and reading them in elementary school to his fourth-grade class. By seventh grade, he had started his junior high school newspaper and was paid $1.50 per story to contribute to his hometown newspaper, The Forsyth County News.
As a high school sophomore, he began working part-time for the newspaper on the road to a 17-year newspaper career, including writing awards from the Georgia and South Carolina press associations.
Leaving the newspaper business in 1994, Scott began a faith-based and non-profit marketing and communications career. He is a national speaker, Bible teacher, and storyteller.
He wrote his first book, Brookwood Road, in 2014, fulfilling a 40-year promise to his dad. His books are consistently award-winning novels in national awards contests.
Scott graduated from the University of Georgia (1981), studying journalism and sociology. In 2003, he received a Strategic Marketing Certificate from Emory University in Atlanta.
Scott and his wife Vicki have been married for 38 years and have four grown sons, three beautiful daughters-in-law, and four very loved grandchildren. They also have a cat, Vivian.
